Publication Ethics and Malpractice Statement
The Journal of Information and Organizational Sciences (JIOS) is committed to maintaining the highest standards of publication ethics and takes all possible measures to prevent publication malpractice.
The journal adheres to the principles and guidelines of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and follows internationally recognized standards for ethical scholarly publishing.
Responsibilities of Authors
Authors are expected to:
- submit original work that has not been previously published or submitted elsewhere
- properly cite and acknowledge the work of others
- ensure that all listed authors have made a significant contribution to the research
- disclose any conflicts of interest that may influence the results or interpretation of the manuscript
- provide accurate data and be prepared to supply raw data if requested
Plagiarism, data fabrication, falsification, and other forms of research misconduct are strictly prohibited.
Responsibilities of Reviewers
Reviewers are expected to:
- treat all manuscripts as confidential documents
- provide objective, constructive, and timely evaluations
- identify relevant published work that has not been cited
- disclose any conflicts of interest and decline review if necessary
- avoid using any information obtained during the review process for personal advantage
Responsibilities of Editors
Editors are responsible for:
- ensuring a fair, unbiased, and timely peer review process
- making publication decisions based solely on the manuscript’s scientific merit, originality, and relevance to the journal’s scope
- maintaining confidentiality throughout the review process
- taking appropriate action in cases of suspected ethical misconduct
Ethical Oversight
The journal takes all allegations of misconduct seriously. In cases of suspected ethical violations, the editorial office will follow established procedures in accordance with COPE guidelines. This may include contacting the authors, institutions, or relevant bodies, and, where necessary, issuing corrections, retractions, or other appropriate measures.
